Western — nature, made by hand
Since 1993

A family of restless creators.

For over thirty years, we have made in cast stone what natural rock, because of its weight, would not allow.

In the atelier’s second generation, Ricardo took on the drawing and Luiz Carlos the engineering: the recycled PET fibre compound is his.

From drawing to installation, the work is all ours.

The finished work: the stone waterfall and the sand beach around the pool, with the house behind

It all starts with a project. Spaces are recreated in 2D and 3D, with realistic images, a preliminary study and construction drawings. This lets us foresee the result before building and hand over clear documentation for the works.

Our stones are handcrafted, created from nature. The original stays in nature and, from the mould, we create and paint by hand in our atelier.

A natural pool has features that must be detailed in the design, such as wet edges, the slope of the beach, the lining, the treatment system, the structure, contour lines and drainage. From design to execution, count on Western.

Ponds with fewer, larger stones increase the usable water area for the fish, with a lighter, more natural look, always respecting what nature inspires, our greatest teacher.

Our waterfalls are made with handcrafted stones, faithful reproductions of a natural original, with the details, shapes and even the grooves of the stone itself. They can be installed in contemporary or organic pools.

Our experience with immersive aviaries began in 2012, in the breeding programme for Spix’s macaws: we recreated their natural habitat in rock, in the backlands of Bahia, with nesting hollows up to 7 m deep between the stones so that they could breed.

Give wings to creativity and count on Western to make it real.

Different textures, volumes and shapes. Inspired by the concepts of biophilia, with the textures and tones of Brazilian stones, our claddings can be applied as dry-jointed panels or as a monolithic surface.

When stone leaves landscaping: authored furniture and architectural structure. From the table base in Caito Maia’s office to the setting for Sophia Hegg’s Aura Lumina collection, and Jader Almeida’s shade-tree sculptures at All Resort Porto Belo Golf Club.

Western stone also becomes a piece. It is the same technique as our projects, rock cast from nature and painted by hand, now at the scale of an object for the home.

“Having a beach at home was the wish, it was the dream.”

“The stone goes into the pool, it embraces it… as if it had always been there. Only you do this work.”

From the first mould to today’s atelier.

The rock stays where it is. We take only the mould.

2026

We launched Western Store and delivered remarkable projects such as Chalé Cristal, All Resort and the sculptures with Jader Almeida. It was also the year Western entered design, with the UNA and the Woodstone collection.

2027

Coming soon.

We already have plenty of new work ready to launch. This is only the beginning.

Architects, landscape designers and designers for the next projects.

We’re looking for partners. Western comes in from the first sketch: modelling, engineering and execution in our own atelier, with a light stone that goes where natural stone can’t.
